Hurrying To The Parthenon

A simple composite that may not appeal too much. I wanted to do something with the background image - a 3-foot by 2-foot repro plaque in a junk shop. Unfortunately it had a plant pot, with a grass of some sort in it, planted right in front of the horse's rear end. Enter Generative Fill! Likewise for the empty pot over to the left. Time-saving or what? The young lady's determined-looking pace attracted me too so, slapping them together was very satisfying and the title, which may not be particularly appropriate, sprang to mind. What do you think?

I think you do composites exceedingly well. While I agree the young lady is hurrying (to something, very possibly the Parthenon), the horse and tall young man appear to be enjoying where they are. I feel as though the horse is hiding from the hand that is stridently saying ā€œgo get ā€˜emā€.

I like your interpretation Ellen, thank you. The lady was actually mid- to end-twirl but surely looks to have a pace on.

Ellen, I love your comments!!

Dave, it's an unexpected pairing, and is starting to grow on me for its whimsy (note that both "whimsy" and "silly" are meant to be compliments, not criticisms šŸ„° )

What is the white "sleeve" she seems to be wearing?

It's the veil thingy that is attached to her headband, she's wrapped it around her arm...as in this portrait shot.

Thank you Magntoman for broaching the subject. Understated, we live in interesting times.

I am not a photoshopian so I found this online app to aid me. Ouch, they want $15 /d !! Too rich for my budget.

Adobe's Firefly is not without its sting...From PC Magazine: "Adobeā€™s generative AI-powered Firefly tools are now commercially available to subscribers, but with a catch: Adobe will ā€œchargeā€ you for using it with a credit plan that you may need to pay separately for.
https://www.pcworld.com/article/2067182/adobe-fireflys-ai-tools-go-live-but-with-a-credit-plan.html

How it works: "Adobe Firefly is a family of creative generative AI models for Adobe products. Initially focused on both image and text effect generation, Adobe Firefly taps into a library of open-licensed images and copyright-expired public domain content to turn text descriptions into AI creations. It can create a bath bomb big bang from a few descriptive phrases, or it can add an image to text and make your brandā€™s name into a beautiful grassy design."
https://www.adobe.com/products/firefly/discover/firefly-vs-midjourney.html

I inspected the doors opened by "Elements Plus" for Photoshop Elements 2024 and the firefly door is not opened. A list of Photoshop and unique doors opened by Elements Plus [$12] is on the site https://elementsplus.net/

Click on any of the opened doors and there is an explanation regarding the effect. Our world is getting far too complicated and at times far too controlled by AI Robots. Sculptors can now use 3D LASER cutting tools based on photos or drawings... Imagination and hammer and chisel are old-fashioned. Leonardo, get out of the doorway.

I bet that next year other Edit programs will have add-on equivalents. Adobe uses, a " library of open-licensed images and copyright-expired public domain" and those are available to any photo edit company, but how they are used is Adobe's proprietary secret...

Lots of free help online if you search Don - or just 'have a go', it does get easier. Follow some of the top tutors and wait for the free bits, ignore the 'join my academy for just $30 a month' bits - although you will get an email battering once they have your address. Ask Curmudgeon how he has become so proficient with AI, I'm sure he'll give you tips foc, as will any of us here if we know anything useful. Don't despair, you're amongst friends!

I like the way her colorful image contrast with the rest of the image. She is moving and colorful, while the bas relief is monotone and not really going anywhere to quickly. Am I reading too much into this?

Got it about right in my book Erich. Many thanks for your interpretation.
