Might not 5,000-15,000 volts destroy the sensor? And are full-frame sensors more resistant to static charges than APS-C of MFT sensors? And do raw files capture more of the charge than JPEGs?

Oooohhhh.......

....the polar considerations to be kept in mind so that one does not become positively negative in the conducting of sensory exposures.

I'm certain you are aware there are different types of sensors just as there are different types of attorneys. Some are quite good at one or two things but not really the best choice for other scenes when framed in light of the big picture.

Probably you've observed, what we see in the sectional discussions and array of photo sites --

Throughout the 54, or so, active and inactive sections arrayed, there are sometimes hot P-eople I-n X-enon E-levated L-uminescence situations.

Turns out, the compositions sometimes are not smoothly blended circles of confusion aimed at sharpening focus on a matter of import, but are S-taked O-ut O-bstinate C-ontentions that produce T-angled I-n F-ruitless F-racas files of frats.

You know, contending over the proprietary uniquenesses involved in the ongoing R-ight A-nd W-rong fan club tournaments will probably J-ust P-romote E-xpanding G-igabytes of crunchy, overly processed F-orceful F-oolishness that selectively focus and M-ight F-urther T-hrow the rubbing-the-wrong-way frictions into A-dvancing P-rogrammed S-editious C-ontent.

Seems like sometimes, even those who have a background properly grounded in the fundamentals and have long-established connections firmly connected to the craft, are caught in cases of highly charged polar opposites where things are conducted in such a frictious, resistant manner that focal distortions get amped up, and yes........

.......sometimes in the discharges, highlights are all blown out and details are damaged or destroyed.....

Maybe none are exempt from the spark of the passion......if conditions are just right.

If you didn't think " static photography" related to "photography" why did you post this here without doing any research?

In the thoughts of the OP in his OP, it must have been the sound of the hunt for "...a conversation starter..." that "...has value and utility."

So, I have never heard the term used as it relates to photography, but it is probably out there, and I just haven't seen it; it's called, static photography. As I see it, it would incorporate Landscape, Architecture, and other immovable objects that are stationary just waiting to be photographed. Nothing moves...they are static. In real estate it is called fixity of location. So, this title (static photography) just groups know entities into a category that covers several well established labels. I'm not quite sure how the term would be used other than as a conversation starter, but even then it has some value and utility. Just my thought of the day.

Interesting. It seems that people keep making up terms to use when we already have terms that work. "Bad actors" - referring to people who do bad things, for example. I like "fixity of location" better than "static photography." I picture someone taking pictures of discharges of static electricity. And why is it called "static electricity" when there is a spark actually moving. How about "mobile electricity"?
