Since my attempts at really good editing are not very advanced: are there any labs that will work with you on editing s photo before you have them print it?

I use Coupralux in Dallas. They aren't cheap...$0.10 per square inch (picture area) + $0.0 per square inch white space (borders) on nice paper last time I used them. But...they will (or at least did) provide 30 minutes of free editing or consultation with each order. Helped me learn a lot. Don't know how that might work long distance.

Which would be a better use of your time and likely money? Learning by doing and asking for help, when needed, or paying someone who might / might not provide any help for the dollars spent?
How often do you print anything? How often to you envision paying for this service? Every time, even if you pay to re-invent the wheel each time? How much is too much to pay?
Personally, I'd expect a remote print service to offer help on color tone, especially white balance and adjusting a pronounced color tint, not important work effort in cropping, sharping, content replacement, and similar. So, in these areas, you'd be to needing to learn these tools and techniques for yourself.
The UHH community is always ready and willing to at least 'try' to be helpful on various editing exercises. Have you availed yourself of all these free resources, recognizing 'free' tends to be only as good as you've paid.

A quick search of photography clubs in Las Vegas revealed there is a photo club there. And they affiliae with a pro lab. You could kill two birds with one stone...join a club and increase knowledge that way AND walk into the pro lab mentioned on the club's site and seek help on this particular project. What I don't see, at quick glance, is when and where they meet...but they do look active. I suggest you contact them.

I spent some time scanning your posts. You make lots of trips and own expensive equipment. I see some discussion of PSE. It might not be you, but your software, that is making things difficult. You might revisit that decision with new ideas. Or not.
