I think you answered your own question.

I was hoping to get a definitive answer from someone who actually knows the fellow. Occasionally I hear that a member has died, sometimes those are members I like and have interacted with constructively.

Are you referring to Blacks2–Mike? It’s been nearly 2 years since he’s posted. He was in his mid-90’s, ailing, and not doing well. I used to communicate with him, but he suddenly dropped off and he’s not responded to any of my PM’s over time.

blackest (John) hasn't posted since Oct 22. Sometimes peoples' interest wanders to other things and other places.

Thanks, but that is a different fellow, unless my guy uses two similarly named UHH accounts. But it is the same pattern of inactivity and absence. Sad when members die.

Gotcha. A very large number of our members are senior, some quite senior, and sadly, they do go.

That is the same time I last saw a post from him (John). You and he are close on the globe, Ireland and Scotland. As you can see I am far from there in California, USA. I hope he is OK but just doing something different. I have many interests and hobbies, Photography, Collecting and Listening to Recorded Music, Seashells, Dogs. I toggle between them daily. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I've noticed a couple members that I was close with have died. I think at 69 I am one of the younger members.

Easy way to answer the question is to search "User List", without creating a thread.

The biggest loss to this column is Graham the "Cheers and Beers" fellow from Scotland. His comments may have had a touch of raunch, but they were mostly funny and after all are any primary schoolers Hedgehoggers?

So, when you reviewed the account's posting history, what did you find? You know, of course, you can click their user name and then view their topics created, as well as the entire history of all their posts.

When you sent this user a PM - Personal Message - did the message ever flip to read?

Any user that last participated on the site in October 2022 is probably not an active member ...

Why is it sad when someone dies? It is just a part of life, just like birth.
