The memory is an odd feature of the brain. When I was a kid, there was a kids' show that had Buster Brown Shoes as a sponsor. That was over seventy years ago, and I still remember the tag line. "I'm Buster Browne. I live in a shoe. That's my dog Tige. He lives in there, too. Yet, I can't remember why I walked into a room or where I left something.

Similarly, I can clearly visualize every rock, tree, flower, building, shrub and feature of my childhood house where I lived only 18 years yet I have a very hard time doing the same for my present home where I've lived for 32 years. Why is that? Less childhood mental clutter to interfere with a clear mental recording and too much adult clutter to do the same?

Buster Browne Shoes sponsored a number of kids' shows in the 1950's. The Howdy Doody Show was among those. I remember the shoes being carried at a number of local shoe and department stores.

Here’s something you can try when you forget what you go into another room for something…go back to the room you were in when you thought about it. Usually works for me.

I remember all sorts of silly, useless stuff from when I was a kid, and I forget where I laid a Lens Cap.

I still remember that as well Jerry. I use that every now and then and the response I get is usually "What?"

Andy Devine was only known as "Jingles" on the "Wild Bill Hickok Show" starring Guy Madison. He was Wild Bill's sidekick. I can still hear his high raspy voice saying, "hey, Wild Bill, wait for me"! And who can forget, "pluck your magic twanger, Froggie"! Thanks Jerry, I'll be in tomorrowland for the next hour or two and I do mean thanks.
