A wonderful look at Bob Hope entertaining the troops during his many Christmas performances. Thank You to every Veteran that had a Christmas away from home and to Bob Hope for sharing his Christmas with the troops.

Bob was one of a kind.

Got to see him when I was stationed at Udorn, Thailand with the 432nd Recce Tech 1972-73. Don't remember who all was with him but, shortly after the show started, 1 of our recce birds launched. Bob made a comment about the noise. Less than an hour later, Col. Scott, the wind commander, came on stage & presented him with a photo of the opening of the show. Bob certainly seemed to be impressed. Lots of great memories.

I remember him passing thru the various combat zone bases during the Viet Nam war. Massive turnout everywhere he went. His show was the one everyone remembers but I was stationed on many small isolated sites in the middle of nowhere during my tours and there were many small unknown bands and singing groups who showed up to give us a show. We enjoyed having them just as much.

I had the opportunity to see Bob Hope and cast including Raquel Welch in 1967 and again in 1968 when he had Ann Margaret in the show.

The photo I took in 1968 shows Bob Hope arriving and being greeted by the base commander. The second photo is of Ann Margaret performing. I took the original photos on slide film. Sorry for the poor quality.

We saw him a long time ago here in NY. I was surprised at how short he was.
