An Iowa school had to apologize for publishing its "Quote of the Day" because it originated with Heinrich Himler (Nazi). I'm not going to repeat the statement here because I don't want to have to apologize.

Me too, it has made everyone overly sensitive. Person A makes a comment that offends person B, so person B says "I can't control my feelings. Person A has to control my feelings for me."

However, we can quote religious figures without danger, even though they have led to acts just as bad as anything Himler said. Such a confused world. And, no, I have no use for Nazis - past or present.

Yup, that's the basic extent of it....

The frozen crystalline precipitation units melt so easily.

Well, I think you'll have to be careful about that, too. A quick search shows lots of quotations that various religions would find offensive.

"offensive quotations by religious leaders"

No, "I" won't have to be careful. I find religion offensive.

So in how many languages do you know how to spell correctly?
Und, es ist mein Führer, if one wants to get technical. Don't forget the diacritics.

Heinrich Himmler

It's pretty safe to say that's a guy that never should never be quoted

"I never said most of the things I said". Another witty quote by a famed quote-meister. He was also a pretty good ball player.

The heck of it is, I don't think it's going to get any better.

One should be careful what they say at times. When Marie Antoinette said, "Then let them eat cake" it didn't end well for her.
