Spirit Of The Galaxy: Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) Composite

The background is made from a trees ICM. The 'spirit' is a composite in herself and I've pinched her from another composite I'm putting together where she will be an angel - so I'll bear in mind any critique you care to leave when finishing-off that one!

In a setting that's predominantly diffuse, a face that's too vivid can look out of place. I'm not suggesting that you destroy all of the detail and definition, but a touch of softness might work wonders. And possibly just a touch more shadow on the face caused by the lamp.

Her face has been a real pain RG! It is a separate layer and I’ve fiddled and fiddled - in the end I decided to see what folk said - so your comment is very handy. I’ll give it a go later (visitors in the way today!). Many thanks for the help.

Maybe a slight drop in saturation or a light brush of transparency would be my suggestion, plus maybe a bit of denoise for softening.

Too easy to think of ICM as vertical or horizontal... many angles between as you show us effectively here.

There’s so much noise on the base image I just left it alone but I’ll try it on the face. Not sure about transparency, there’s a lot of junk laying behind - it would need backing. Anyway, all worth a try. Thanks again.

Yes, you can wiggle the camera all over the place Don! The tutor I watched recommended exactly that - it’s all experimental and you get what you get!

Fascinating, engaging work, Dave!

If she is of the sky and stars, I might consider using less green. The green makes me think more of forest. I love that you've now shown us vertical, horizontal and "all over the place" wiggling

Wow, beautiful work. I was sitting here feeling proud of myself that I have almost mastered shadows and you post another reminder how far I have to go. I can't wait to see her as an angel.

Not just angles either Don, you can follow a curve and get attractive results - but let’s start at the beginning, I’m still trying to master the straight bits!

Controlled curves are the next aim, just need to walk before I run Linda!
I did get some blue in it but thought the green and orange contrasted nicely.

There’s a lot of ‘suck it and see’ in this Jack. I’ve used Blend Modes that I wouldn’t normally bother with, and they affect layers above as well as the layer they’re applied to, so it can get to be quite a maze if you need to refer back. Fun though. Glad you like it.
