Hi, I am buying Nikon Z8 but there are two different models, USA and international. USA one is more expensive. Which one should I buy? Thanks

The International will probably not be covered by Nikon USA warranty and/or repair.

The battery charger that comes with that camera has a built-in plug to fit the power main. Good chance the international version charger won't fit our outlets, if it is included at all. Also verify that it contains an English language manual and can display English menus.

If you trust this brand new camera has all the kinks worked out and you'll never experience a warranty-covered issue, nor need a repair during your ownership of the body, save some money on the international grey-market version. If you need the peace of mind (aka insurance) again a warranty-covered issue or repair, get the properly authorized US-market version.

Also, Nikon may not repair your grey market equipment even for a price, and third party repair businesses may have trouble getting parts.

Nikon will not repair it period. At least that's what I found.

I don't know how much it is so I can't say whether it's worth it or not. For a $4000 camera the saving must be more than $500 to even consider it.

Apart from the obvious already covered regarding warranty the Z8 has already had two recalls.

If you were to consider purchasing the 'cheaper' one you need to be absolutely 100% sure it is not one that has not had the recall work undertaken (older stock). Whilst Nikon would honor undertaking the work for free this may not be done in the US.

Nikon will NOT repair a gray or international model camera. It breaks down even the Nikon backed service people wont touch it..

I got curious about the price difference for an imported/grey market Canon R5 on Abe's of Maine website, it's selling for $2729.00 and the R5 American warranty version is around $3399.00, that's a savings of $670.00. Mine has the US warranty.
