i got a new basic computer several months ago, Lenovo Ideapad. I can transfer my Olympus jpg files to the computer from a SD card, taken with an Olympus Tough 6. When I open to print, I can see a preview of the photo but the computer gives me a message, "Invalid value for registry" and will not display full size image or print. Other documents print OK on my Epsom 7200 printer.

I have to guess and I guess that the OP just double click on the JPEG file name to open it.

Same question. I have a new lenovo with win 11 I9 32gig yada yada and not so much as a burp for 4 months. I admit I do not print my own but send them out. Try reading the pics with some other tool. If it reads with another program then the file is ok and suspect what program you are using to "open to print" is in question. Try sending it to someplace like Walgreens to see if it is printable.

See if you printer needs a new driver since you moved to Win 11.

Maybe this will help: https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/customizing-windows-11-how-to-change-default-apps#:~:text=Windows%2011%20lists%20every%20single,to%20assign%20to%20an%20app.&text=Click%20on%20the%20app%20you,it%20is%20capable%20of%20handling.&text=Click%20on%20the%20file%20type,change%20the%20default%20app%20for.

What? Highlight file, right mouse click, select print?

Double click will attempt to open it, right mouse click may offer "print"........

Hard to tell when we don't know what is being done without a description of steps.

"Don't work" just doesn't cut it.......

Step 1...Format the SD Card in the camera...NOT the PC, Is the issue still there, yes, can the issue be duplicated with a different SD Card.
Next, if the issue is still present, use or borrow a different PC, attempt to view the files. Is the issue still present....My gut says you have either an unformatted or corrupt SD Card...not a PC issue

First, this error will show up when the registry has been corrupted. Often this can be from an incomplete uninstalling of a program. Preferably one should uninstall apps/programs through Start Button - Settings - Apps - Installed Apps - [list of all software]. Choose the program to be uninstalled and click on the three dots to the right of that program and select Uninstall. This will do a clean uninstall.

If uninstalling a program was messed up somehow, try restarting your computer. This will often clean up the mess. Or run Wise Free Registry Cleaner.

By default, Win 11 will open images in Photos, if there has net been any other program installed by the user to print images. This should work fine by itself. --Richard

These are particularly aggressive, complex, and risky corrective actions to suggest against a vaguely defined problem. There's really no way to get to this 'x' solution from the 'y' description provided by the OP. If the problem is an incorrectly defined 'default' action, why not just change that default and ignore all uninstall / reinstall actions? Just set the JPEG default to Photos and see if that resolves the issue.

Maybe the OP will give some more details, a screen capture, and / or update?

I have a W-11 issue with Downloading images from the DCIM/ Camera folder of my Samsung S23.
It gives me a resource unavailable message.
