Looks like our pirates have followed the call like so many before them. Their fate is sealed.
I got the inspiration for this, two or three years back, from a sculpture of a fan-like form, which lead to the harp shape shown here. I'm not sure about the image, shelved it for a while and have decided it's about done. If you have any opinion or critique I will appreciate it.

Your title is perfect for this image/composite, Dave. However, not knowing while feeding my ignorant mind with Google, I discovered what a siren is. Education is a good thing but apparently I was asleep that day. I also love the concept, altho there is room for more and I'm sure you have more up your sleeve.

What does being a siren mean? Classical Mythology. one of several sea nymphs, part woman and part bird, who lure mariners to destruction by their seductive singing. a seductively beautiful or charming woman, especially one who beguiles men:

This seems like two complete images caught on a flat plane together! She's beautiful and love her pose. Like how she's mounted on the wooden platform!

Glad you like the idea Dave.
In classical art sirens seem to turn up in various forms, so I felt quite free to use Indriya, she certainly has the beauty for it. More? Well I could add more pirates as others have mentioned but I’m not sure I’ll bother much more with it - it was more an exercise in creating the harp really and had laid about for quite a while. I expect you have a few that are doing that? I certainly have! Might try more sirens though, can’t have too many of them!

Do you mean the harpist looks separate from the image behind her Veronica? Perhaps the sky causes that? Or the lighting. If you scroll back a bit you’ll see the sculpture that inspired the idea (with a different model plonked on top) and a different background.

Well, the image does appear to be two separate ones (that was my eye) and I think perhaps due to the lighting and the figures are so unique from each other. Please don't get me wrong, it's a great composition, and I really do not know the history behind it. You did a great job on the image as a whole!

You don’t have to worry about giving negative critique Veronica, I merely asked for clarification so I can see it as you do. I prefer ‘in depth’ comment to a simple ‘lovely’. Thanks for the explanation. I think it’s the supposed complex lighting and the colour of the sky that gives the feel you describe. The original sculpture in situ doesn’t suffer from the effect at all and has more obvious depth - not that it’s relevant as I didn’t use it!
