Took a walk with my camera out back today. If anyone can ID the snake I would appreciate it. I think it may be a juvenile rat snake or pine snake.

Wonderful textures on your fascinating mushroom close-up. Love it! Also love the light and shadow on the petals of the last pic. Ken, do you ever try square crops on single blossom shots?

I'm not a fan of square shots, Linda. I don't know why but I like offsets and negative space better. Thanks for looking and for commenting.

Nice set Ken no ID though. Anyone who takes pictures of snakes rather than killing them is a good person in my book. I really like the fungus.

Thanks, Jack. I hate snakes but I don't just kill them for the sake of killing them. They do serve a purpose and if they aren't poisonous I leave them alone.

I'm going to take an educated guess of a pine snake. After comparing photos for the last half hour, it's the closest snake I think. I hope someone can definitively identify it. Cheers!

Well, put your photo into Google Photo app and it comes up with a tentative ID of Buttermilk Racer. Really like your set of images.
