If you have an ON1 subscription, you likely received an email today with a link to download the latest software from ON1. The company has retained its ON1 Application Manager utility, that works as a front-end to downloading the different files and plug-ins that are available based on your subscription.

Later today, ON1 released the following notice:

Activation Issues With Photo RAW 2024?

Today we released the new ON1 Photo RAW 2024 and Photo RAW MAX 2024, and some customers have reported issues activating the software with their email and password. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. Our activation server is being overloaded with thousands of activation requests within a short time period, and we believe this to be the root cause of the problem. If you are experiencing this issue, rest assured we will be working around the clock on a fix. In the meantime, you can use the product in trial mode (the trial is fully functional).

We will notify you again as soon as this issue is resolved. Thank you so much for your patience.

So, if you're an early adopter, as I am, be aware that you might be affected as I was. Repeating the final comment in the notice: "In the meantime, you can use the product in trial mode (the trial is fully functional)."

I had that issue but I found a solution. I went directly to my account and downloaded from there without the use of the installer. It worked for me. It could have been a coincidence but it worked.

I did the same and it didn’t work. Like many upgrades that I’ve bought since 2017, it has at least one problem and wasn’t for ready prime time. ON1 is nothing if not consistent in their product introductions. Why ON1 introduced a download manage/installer is beyond me?

As for using it in trial mode, I’ll wait for the fix.

I received another note from ON1 saying they had resolved the issue. I'm currently traveling without the computer I downloaded it to, so I can't check it.
