Worn down by how many footsteps and how many stories of love and life, war and death? Your keen eye moves me deeply, Phil.

Thank you for the visit Longshadow. This was in a very old part of town and the pavers looked granitic. not sure about the steps but with all the stone used in the UK limestone would have been a poor choice.

Architecture polished by human contact is exactly the visual imagery I want to keep in my memory of those days. Thank you, Linda, for helping us all celebrate what we see, then and now.

The only reason I thought that is that limestone wears quickly.

Thank you for the kind comments, Stan. Working with these old negatives has been surprisingly gratifying and has certainly justified keeping them for more than 50 years. I have lost most of the prints so just seeing them again has stirred many memories and thoughts. I appreciate your time.
