I'm thinking that elected officials that deliberately remove context or deliberately revise content from videos/tweets/etc, should be sanctioned.

If it is discovered that a death or injury has occurred from deliberately claiming false and misleading reports as true, some sort of criminal actions should apply.

I agree. I believe in free speech, but not hate speech, untruths, and political massaging of the facts.

Our country made rules for content on radio and television that need to be applied as appropriate to social media outlets, YouTube, Blogs, etc. with slander, libel, and intent to cause harm laws enforced.

Then you lie, what you just said is not free speech it’s only what you deem as free speech.

Test that statement by going into a crowded theater after a show has started and yell out clearly "FIRE".
I bet you'll be in a world of hurt.

That’s not what I was responding to. This was what I was responding to.

We are all human and not perfect. Well, can’t really claim Democrats are human. 😀

Everyone KNOWS that is an exception to the Free Speech argument. But there IS something to be said for WHO gets to monitor free speech. Surely it should not be the government. As we saw from the last election the government got involved with the social media companies and convinced them to not post positive comments about President Trump. You tell me, IF that had been done on the side of supporting Trump would you be happy with it? Me neither. Free speech means exactly that with few exceptions. Each voice should be heard with We the People making up our own mind.

We don't need no stinkin government agency telling us what is free speech and what is not.

Yelling FIRE is protected speech. Google it. You would be held responsible for any harm if it was proved your actions resulted in harm to someone else... but then you are always potentially liable if you cause something. If no one got hurt, then nothing would happen.

Now imagine pulling a fire alarm in a crowded statehouse... knowing full well there isn't any fire. This is a known and widely accepted illegal transgression... tell us who went to jail or was arrested for this actual recent event?.

Rest my case.

Free Speech Karen Wanted Jimmy Kimmel's Disney Managers To Censor Him.

"Try hollerin' 'Boebert' in a crowded theater." Gnarly Taylor Greene to the sandal ridden Gymly Joradn.
