Just when you think they could not possibly put a bigger engine in a Mustang ......, see photo #2.
What are they trying to prove?
Cool shots. Ford has been doing that for a long time. They shoehorned a 429 ci into my '69 Mustang then had to create a special tool to remove the rear spark plugs. By then most owners who worked on their own cars had cut a hole in the fender liner to get to it with a regular wrench.
Pony cars have been some of the best production straight line cars since the 60’s! Big power big 1/4 mile times.

Didn't Carol Shelby invent that trick with the AC Cobra?

I remember that there weren't tires large enough to provide any meaningful traction.
I'm a Chevy guy, but the 429 c.i. Mustang was a Beast!!!
I still remember those days and those memories still make me,

My ‘65 Sunbeam Tiger had cut outs in the interior in the transmission tunnel with grommets to get to the rear spark plugs.

Another car I lusted for, yikes!!!
A thrill to drive Jimmy! A land rocket, but when it hit 140 mph,
it shook like it was ready to explode. Glad I’m still here to relate that😉.
