This image doesn’t qualify as Digital Artistry really, it’s just Lr doctored plus the addition of a light ray overlay. Nonetheless I love it! Last week I was telling a village friend that, despite living here fifteen years, I’d only recently discovered the church has five stained glass windows by William Morris and Co. He has lived here all his life and knew nothing of them but immediately arranged for me to show him. He was also unaware of the pre-Raphaelites and wanted to know more. So this is his ‘conversion’, the moment he suddenly realised the beauty of the windows. He went off home and later asked if I thought he might be related to one of the founders of the PRB as he has the same surname! It was nice to know he was doing a bit of research.

The composition of his being nearly a silhouette with slightly hunched posture, standing beneath the high dark ceiling, make this photo stands on its own, with no backstory needed (though it was very interesting). The subtle light ray is perfect.

Whether he felt humbled in the presence of a higher being, or whether he felt awe at the beauty that man can create will be interpreted per the viewer's personal beliefs. Powerful.

Yes, I thought the interpretation could have been left to the viewer too Linda, but I know in reality it’s the window doing the trick. Thanks for the nice comment on it, I snapped it in the moment and was pleased with the result - it’s warmer in the original but I posted a file I’d saved to my phone and assumed it had been converted (colour wise!!) along the way. I should have used the original and converted it to sRGB myself. I don’t think it matters much for this one.

I think it qualifies; and it is also a great story.

I do see why you say that Jack and knew it would be viewed that way, it’s just not my way of looking at things. Glad it does that for you though.

Maybe I should have said magical. Spiritual does have a religious connotation I did not intend

Isn't it a mystery that we see things without actually seeing? Such as, "can't see the forest for the trees". I think we're all guilty of that from time to time, certainly me included. I'm guilty of observing a photo here and not picking up on most common details, until someone else points certain things out only to remind me of what I had missed. Your posted photo is wonderful, doesn't matter if it qualifies here. I see it as a digital image, so it must qualify, right?

Excellent! And, what Linda said.
