Mike, when we lose a member of the UHH family, many of us feel a loss. I think for many of us your "crew" with their paws up in approval were part of this family we call a forum. Please give Sassy's brother some extra love from me and I'm sure from many others as well. I send sincere sympathy to you and your family for the loss of little Sassy.

What a precious companion. So sorry Mike to hear of Sassy's passing. I've been there and I know how much it hurts. Sassy will be waiting for you and your wife at the bridge, what a wonderful day that will be.

Such a beautiful creation - and heartwarming sentiments 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

Early this morning at the emergency vet with my wife stroking her head, Sassy crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She leaves her brother, my wife and me in deep sorrow. For almost 16 years of love, devotion, companionship and fun she has been at our side.

I will not be participating on the Hog today.

My deepest sympathies to your wife and yourself Mike. During our 34 years of marriage we have had to put down a total of seven dogs and one cat. It is never easy saying goodbye as you watch the life go out of their eyes.

I’m sorry Mike. It’s sure difficult to lose a beloved pet and member of the family.

Mike, I am so sorry to hear of Sassy’s crossing the Rainbow Bridge. We’ve heard of her long enough that we too feel pain, although not as deeply as you and your wife. Please know you have the sympathy of UHH buddies and friends. Losing a pet is as hard as losing a human sometimes.

May she run free and be loved while she waits for your return. I feel your pain. RIP Sassy

AirWalter,

I hope you don't mind that I have saved the poem in a folder to be able to send to friends that will someday lose their fur babies. It is so beautiful and had me balling my eyes out; I have had many pets cross Rainbow Bridge.

Thanks!

Dodie

I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. So many of us understand the intensity of your pain and your loss, as we continue to deal with our own. There isn't anything else like the love and companionship a dog offers - the greetings at the door, even if you were only gone for 5 minutes because you forgot something, the tail that wags like it's going to come off - just because you are petting them, their drive to protect you from man-eating squirrels in the yard, and on and on. Try to focus on all the great times and not the loss. I try, and it's hard, I know.
