Paperless Billing

I'm gradually switching back to receiving a paper statements in the mail. The idea that you can click on the website and check your account is more idea than reality. Every single day, I get, "We are having technical difficulties. Please try again later." from one site or another. Citibank sends me at least one piece of paper mail every day promoting some kind of offer, yet they don't want to send me a statement? This morning, Keybank said I had 10,000 points, and I should use them. Yes, if only I could sign-on to their website. I have a woodstove and a shredder, so disposing of the paper isn't a problem. Receiving mail helps the Post Office, too.

I went to paperless and on-line payments after the "mail problem" in the past.
One payment was posted 2 months later and another never arrived.
I've had no problems with any of the websites, and I download a PDF of the bill.

I've made three attempts to get onto my Keybank account to see what I can get with my points. They're still having problems.

Ever since I went "Paperless" I receive more junk mail than ever before from the same folks that insisted that I go "Paperless", sigh

Honda regularly sent me a paper bill about 7 days before it was due and then warned me "the USPS may take up to 10 days to deliver it back to Honda Finance." Even if I sent it back with a check the same day it was delivered, and USPS tracked it to Honda in time, it would sit in someone's in-basked long enough to be considered a late payment. I finally had Honda take a payment directly from my bank account even though I don't like handing out that information in case they're hacked. Now that they have the information in their database I might as well go to completely electronic payment which is what Honda wanted all along. As usual, it's about a mega company reducing its overhead and increasing their profit while laying off clerical staff who used to manage paper payments.

I haven't noticed an increase in the junk mail from going paperless with businesses, but junk mail is about all we get now, save a few items of importance.

The PO tells me what mail is arriving each day, and if it isn't important, I let it sit in the mailbox.

I don't want to check my email nor log in to my account so often to check for bills. I like paper bills because I always check the regular mails and I know when I have the bills.

I paid my electric bill online just now. When I clicked on "See Bill," there was nothing available. Maybe it will be available later. Our electric company has been having major billing pro0blems, like people making automatic payments of $3,000, rather than $100. I stopped Autopay.

No I pay online but not autopay. I need paper billings to know when I have bills.

I don't check often at all!

I have it "scheduled" in Quicken, typically a day or two after they normally post, and I go look for the bill then.
I basically know when they are available.
Plus, they send an email or text when the bill is ready.
I always check my email every day.

Autopay can be deadly if they take too much.

Yes it can.
Especially with electric in the summer and gas in the winter.

I always request a paper bill. I've found my computer and their websites to be far too unreliable to use as a primary payment function. If they can't send me a paper bill, they don't get paid. John
