I shot these two dahlias together in a multi-image focus stack, cut them out to separate them, and put them on my typical dead black background, where it struck me that they looked like galaxies. So I looked around the web for an image of a start studded sky, and came upon one of the Webb's earliest images. I cut and pasted bits of that image onto my black ground, tweaking them as I went, and got this.
Any and all critiques - positive or negative - welcome, indeed encouraged.
A very imaginative and engaging idea! I'm curious how the composition would look if you use three flowers (the Rule of Odds and all that jazz), and perhaps place them a bit smaller in the frame? I'm thinking a little more subtlety to give the feel of their being part of deep space...but that might not work nor be of interest to you. Just thinking out loud.
Did you receive any good tips from your main forum topic on use of the Webb Telescope images? I didn't read through it. Would they be a good source for composites/backgrounds?
For anyone who didn't see your question, it's

Astronomers would agree the galleries flower at the edge of the universe... if it has an edge. You demonstrate that well.
Maybe it could be titled The Big Bang and that's how flowers came to be.
Very imaginative. I really enjoyed it.
Very creative and well put together. I really like this one.

Nice concept! I do agree with a past reply that three flowers might have been more dynamic, but your two galaxies are VERY well done, colors are also fresh and bright.
