Welcome with your first post and first day of membership!

Anyone that has been here for awhile will see this as trolling, click-bait or sly trick to get a 10 page argument going yet again.

There are no user friendly cameras now. To be competitive, they all have near infinite lists of features controlled by choices in book length menu systems.

All newer cameras also have a superlative "Auto" setting derived from decades of technological development. Auto will make any camera or phone user friendly.

If you want a simple camera, use your cellphone. Otherwise, see Sprague's comment above.

Welcome! As you will see in a few hours, we all think Nikon mirrored is the way to go!

Contrary to the pages and pages of useless information you will soon receive, today's cameras are only as "user friendly" as you permit them to be. If you take the time to learn all they can do, Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm etc., can all produce great results and can be easy to use.

As someone who has used Nikon for years, I can tell you Nikon is more user friendly...but that's because I have been using their cameras for many years.

It all depends on what you want/like. Because of that only you can answer that question.

With the wrong brand, success is probably 99% luck. But with Canon equipment, it's 100% the photographer.

Not all of us.

I use Pentax DSLR sometimes;
Pentax SLR others.
There is a new Pentax film camera coming.

The vast majority here will say that the only camera worth buying is the Nikon D850 and screw drive F mount lenses.

Nothing should make you feel inferior about your equipment except owning the wrong brand.

I've owned Nikon, switched to Canon and don't regret it. Have a Sony A6000 which was purchased as an experiment and for the small size, don't care for their cumbersome menus.

You'll receive a thousand replies and 2000 opinions. Choose what you feel comfortable with, as long as it's Canon

Sony makes Nikon's high-end sensors. Nikon is doomed.

Congratulations...you have tapped into 2 hopeless thread ideas at once.

Now how do we work raw vs. jpg into the conversation?

Sony RAW files have a lossy compressed setting that's as bad as shooting JPEG.
