I had my first dark room at eight years old. Played around with photography until I joined the army at seventeen. Towards the end of my twenty four career, I opened a portrait studio in the NCO Club. That is when I knew what I wanted to do with the immediate future. I retired and moved to Maine and opened a “general purpose “ portrait studio in Biddeford, ME. We became very large and diverse. We offered HS senior, families, sports, and boudoir. I retired in 1984 with the passage of my wife. Now at 80 years old, the spark has been rekindled, I re-equipped my equipment, then turned around and devistated my left shoulder. Wound up getting a reverse shoulder replacement. I am basically out of commission for about four months. Every cloud has a silver lining, now I have time to get a working knowledge of my new camera, a Nikon Z8. They have come along ways.

What A Wonderful Life of passion.
During the Vietnam era, I enlisted in the Navy. Having just left college with a minor in Graphic Arts
and photography, I tried to get into the photography division of the Navy. Because there were no
openings in the "A" schools, I was denied and ended up in communications division. (Married to
a teletype machine and radio transmitters).
You fulfilled my long dream of having your passion become a lifelong career and (Job).
If it's your passion, then it's never called work......

Welcome!
We don’t use the word old in these parts. “Age is all in your mind. The trick is to keep it from creeping down into your body.” There are quite a number of us in their 9th decade. Sometimes I wish I were 70 again. It is our mission to keep the youngsters from acting like middle schoolers.
welcome to the forum...I hope you have better luck than I'm having. The administrator is giving me the run around big time. I have one simple request and he or she will not help me out. I beg them to help me get started but I get no real help. All I get is access denied...K.A.N.
