I'm having a situation. In this case I'm using Nixon NX to edit a picture. That works fine. I get it edited and see the copy next to the original. The problem happens when I go to email it. File size is not an issue here. I use the attachment icon to attach the edited photo. When I click on the edited photo the original keeps appearing as the attachment. I think I'm missing a step. Any ideas?
Don't use Nixon, NX but other programs require you to save or "export" a new file of an adjusted image.
I'll surmise that your email client is probably looking through the directory listing for a file to attach.
If you save the file it will probably work as you want it to work.
If you didn't save it, it's not in the directory listing.
(Only a supposition.)
Thanks I'll try and that.
I sincerely believe Capture NX is the best editor for a RAW data made with a Nikon camera. May I suggest that once you have edited your RAW data that you save it as a Tiff and then you can do some more editing, if needed, with a software like Photoshop or Affinity Photo and send it to where you have to send the image.
If you are sending the image to be printed you have to convert it to a JPEG in the sRGB color space.
I was editing a JPG photo. When I exported the pic and then attached to my email the edited image showed up.

I use NX Studio from time to time to make jpeg files and send them as attachments to emails.
With NX Studio open, select the file you want to export or send as a jpeg. My originals are all NEF or RAW files. I open the NEF file, select Export from the top tool bar, double check the export settings for resizing, file type, etc. Then I export the image and it creates a Jpeg.
In my email program I write the email and attach the jpeg file, not the original NEF file. Both files are in a file folder under My Pictures. I click on the file name with xxxx.jpg as an extension. (I am using windows computers).
If this does not resolve your problem look at the User guide to NX Studio you can access from the program or download to your computer. It is very well written and is easy to follow.
If you are having trouble locating the Jpeg file, you might want to rename it in NX Studio. That may "move" it to the end or bottom of the images in your file folder making it easier to find.
Thanks for I've info. I expected exported the image and things worked out.
