A woman posted that her cat, Snot, got out of the house, and she was worried about it. Fortunately, it returned after being outside just one night.

I think the cat was embarrassed to come out of hiding when the woman called, "Snot!"

Saw a news report on TV last night. A woman was stopped for a routine check. No violation. The officer checked around the car when he heard a noise coming from the engine compartment. Turns out the woman had lost her cat 2 days before and the officer heard the cat meowing from the the grill. Must have gotten itself stuck between the grill and radiator.
The officer slowly pulled the cat out and the woman, of course, was thrilled to have her cat back.

Just a side note. In winter, cats and other less desirable animals, get up into car engines for warmth. So be careful the next time you start your car on a cold day.

Wow! And yes, I've heard that about animals getting into a warm engine compartment. It seems that most cat owners keep them indoors. We always let our roam free.

Absolutely - I’ve had it happen (not my cat). Good idea to blow your horn before starting if there are cats in the neighborhood.

My neighbor will never have that problem. Well, actually, he could. He has a Ram T-Rex with 700+ HP, and when it starts, often at 4:30 AM, it sounds like a canon firing. I guess that wouldn't help a cat in his engine, but it would scare all the others away.

Indoor cats last almost twice as long as outdoor cats.
Just saying ...

Mine lasted into their teens. Now, it seems that my son and I are allergic to them. Odd.

Molly Ivens, columnist and author (rip) had a dog named ‘shitface’ because it walked like it was that level drunk. She had him for quite a few years and kids loved it when he got. Out of the house, loose on the streets! Molly would be out there yelling ‘SHIIIITTTTTTTTT!’ and the kids would laugh, giggle and say that ‘she said a bad word!’

We had our cat climb somewhere in the suspension of an AWD Plymouth minivan.
Have no idea what lured him there, happened to walk by and heard weak meows.
He was stuck somewhere between coil spring, suspension wishbone and driveshaft.
Had to manevour him out like in most complicated obstetric manouvers.
Survived many years after that.

I once had a Siamese cat named, STUPID! It was so lazy, he stayed on the window sill all day.

Our cat found her way into the motor of my car, On a cold winter morning I jumped into the car with the key in hand and quickly started the motor. I heard a clunk and the engine light came on. Out limpted the cat. The motor belt was no longer attached hence the enginelight. The cat did not survive.

Poor cat. Poor car engine. So sad!

Speaking of stupid pet names…when I was in college in Oklahoma, a friend of mine had a dog named “Dammit.”
When she called it she would say, “Come here Dammit!”

You know Jerry it could be worse. Just imagine if she had another similar looking cat named Candy, every time she misidentified Candy, she'd be saying "It looks like Candy but it's not"

That's been one of my favorite lines for years.
