MS AI Program - Copilot (Adult)

I had an interesting situation occur. I should have taken screen shots as it unfolded.

Synopsis: Last eve I noticed my Windows 11 was prompting me that there was a Windows Update waiting to be downloaded and installed. I went to my settings and saw two updates. One was a .net update and the other an OS update. I downloaded both and my PC had to be restarted to finish install which I did.

When my PC rebooted and came to back to the desktop there was a new program installed named "Copilot". Since I wasn't prompted about this program from MS before installation, I was leery. I Googled the program name and learned it was AI program.

I am not open to having AI installed on my PC so I restored my old OS and the Copilot was removed. I also used the registry editor to check and saw no traces of it.

User beware.

PS - The adult part of this was I asked the AI a specific question using a homonym. Copilot responded immediately telling me not to use that type of language as it was against the terms of service of Copilot. UGH. My question: What is the biggest co_k ever measured? After Copilot replied I said that a co_k is a rooster. Copilot didn't like that and reiterated that I cannot use that word. LOL

Beware of AI ... In German... AI über alles... AI will rule above all.

In school, the teacher could ask you for research purposes how you measured your tool and what size it was, but there were rules about questions you could ask. It is AI imposing its rules on you... you are being programmed. You were reprimanded, "against the terms of service."

There is a limit if you were told a bunch of info... then a day later asked to repeat it... you could not... but "Mr. AI" can remember, organize, sort, and interpret everything and has an instant recall and output. At my age I have so many recorded info 3x5 cards in my head it takes time to have my brain sort through them... and at times part of my brain plays games with my conscious brain holding back information... I have to "prime and wait" for the info.

Old Google Deep Dreams in 2015 gave undisciplined crazy wonderful results and fun. Now it demanded, "required," a description of how my photo was to be ... OK, "Ghost of Christmas Past"... I gave it my photo... the result was fantastic beyond my imagination so well done... BUT... it had nothing to do with my original start photo...
AI über alles... AI will rule above all... AI ruled the project and it thought and did so instantaneously.

In a UHH Art Photography yesterday I commented about how AI was taking over our world... taking over us. The photo author, claimed that AI was simply a tool and he was in control. Really? I have a book titled Free Will... synopsis is we do not have free will, we are programmed from "moment one" ... society norms, church, kids at school, kids called parents, etc.

AI will take over our minds because it is a tool like no other we have encountered... Clone, straighten, and crop in photography are hammer and chisel tools... in writing spell and grammar checks are helpful... but when the AI takes our idea and expands and makes a photo that I could never create, or AI writes a 10,000-word essay... the essay is no longer mine, it is the thoughts of AI organization, information, and conclusions impeccable.

Looks like Copilot may be part of Office 365.
Do you have Office 365?

We have Office 365 and I don't see Copilot as a program available under the Windows Start menu.

I have been paying attention to all the discussions about A.I. and various websites, i.e. Twitter, Facebook, etc.
Like the supreme court once said about porono , I can't define it, but know it when I see it, deciding what is o.k. and what is not to post, etc. is just not going very work well. The government wants them to track terror, etc., but then complains when they stop some post that one group or another approves of. Books are bad enough to somehow track, but no company can hire sufficient people to check every thing posted every day.

Words are always a problem, at work they forbid looking up anything related to prono or gambling. But there was a lab that did work on animal reproduction! The two clashed all too well.

I was a chemical safety officer and found that books on "Hazardous reactions" were a great source of info on nasty things one could do. How do you stop one person from looking up poisons or explosives to use or make and allow another to found out how to prevent a death or explosion if something accidentally got mixed?

COPILOT can help with programming, etc. and personally see it as having tremendous potential.

I noticed it after September's Patch Tuesday. I haven't 'opened' it yet, and I don't need an AI for Windows, so if I can I'll uninstall it.

It's part of Windows 11 now, and will be added to Office 365 soon.

I will be following this thread because I got a new windows 11 laptop a couple of weeks ago. I’m gonna check it later on today and see if I have any updates and I’m gonna look into this program.

I haven't tried to deliberately do this, but recently it has popped up when searching with Bing, not always, just here and there. If it helps me get to what I want thru all the other junk that a search finds, I'll be delighted.

I turned on my laptop this morning it ran an Intel display update. I noticed I ran one a few days ago but do not remember what it was.
I was the Copilot icon on the tray. Just to check it out, since I was about to leave for a couple of hours, I asked it:
What is the meaning of life"
I produced 30 pages of the known viewpoints and theories.
I will mess it some later but it appears for now it does not seem to be harmful.
When I set up the laptop I uninstalled the McAfee crap. I use Mozilla as the browser.
So far it has been fine, just getting used to finding things on the new OS layout.
I will poke around and find out more about it and get back.

I had an update today, but I do not have Copilot loaded. I use office, but it is an older version that I purchased. No further updates etc.
