This tree grew around Buddha. It looks as if he liked it. That makes sense as, among his many other positive attributes, Buddha loved and respected nature.

A death grip! Those railings were meant to keep visitors safely away from this rapidly crumbling structure. and some of them, further back, are actually holding it up.
This gives you some sense of the size of everything. Sorry, but I neglected (forgot) to straighten out the buildings as I usually do.

I bought a replacement years ago, and it's just fine. But it's not the one that grew old with me, and it never could be.

I still miss it. I only wore it when I traveled. It went through a lot with me and, without going into needless details, it actually protected me on more than one occasion.
I can't even start to imagine how long it took people so long ago to do all that beautiful work on the buildings.
All very interesting, the pictures and the story behind them.
And look....there she is, your lovely Bronx Bride...still smiling!
