I hate getting these surveys about how my online buying experience was. B&H does it all the time, and it's always several pages long. I never have complaints, but they don't give up asking me until I reply. I bought an inverter for a Dell Vostro, but I haven't gotten to it yet, and they want me to do a review. It's the same for picking up an order at Home Depot. It gets to the point where I think I might order/buy from a place that doesn't harass me with surveys. They could ask if there was a problem, or maybe just ask once. That should be enough.

Anyway, that's all for now.

I know the feeling.........I replied."Am I the first person to buy a watch? stop asking questions. I will not reply again!" That worked!

There is no requirement to take the survey, just ignore them.

I ignore them unless I have a complaint, and then I am happy to reply.

I only answer Amazon surveys in the hope that they may be helpful to someone. They are always short.

Many years ago I bought a lens-cap from them, in store, for five dollars. They sent me a form email a few days later asking me what I thought of it. Basically, I told them it completely changed my life. I was short, and fat, and bald, and had bad breath, and pimples, and etc, and the the lens-cap cured all that and got me a great job with a high salary and a wonderful girl.

If I buy something from one of our local CVS stores, here comes the survey. I usually ignore them, but one time I laid into them saying that the local folks were just fine, but that the damn surveys were getting mighty tiresome and it was like getting bitten to death by ducks. It wasn't long before I got a call from the manager of the store wanting to know what she could do to help make things better. I explained that I had no complaints with her store or any of the people working there. She said that when corporate gets a complaint generated by a survey generated by a particular store, the manager of the store will hear about it. I told her that from then on if I had any issues, I'd take them up with her.
Also if you notice, many of surveys appear to be generated by the same survey company because they ask the same questions such as How likely would you be to recommend CVS as a pharmacy to a friend or family member? I always answer the numerical equivalent of absolutely not, probably a "0" on their scale. Then when asked why?, I reply that choosing a pharmacy is a highly personal matter and I wouldn't presume to let my prejudices and biases influence the decision making of another in such an important matter.

I get the same thing from my car dealer when I take it in for service. However, if you put anything less than a 10 they're not happy. This comes straight from the corporate office. The one time I put down a negative thought, they just passed it on to the service manager at the dealership. Well, I'd already told him what I thought, so what's the use in surveys?

I run into this also. If I have not yet received the item I ordered . . . I send the seller a reply pointing out that I cannot evaluate this transaction until it is completed. If they keep "bugging" me before the transaction is completed I let them know this too . . . in a nice way of course. I'm guessing that sometimes the left hand is not aware of what the right hand is doing at the seller end. Should be simple.

I don't like the length of them either. Lately I have been receiving surveys on how I liked the service some tech provided. You say and they present a screen asking 1 to 10 how you like the service and if you give a good rating you immediately get a longer survey. I figure this is a way to only have positive responses!

I'm not allowed to post anything on Amazon because they say I violated their standards. They can't tell me any more than that. Every comment I made had to first be approved, so I don't know why they think I violated their policies. It is not possible to communicate with that department.
