And now that they screwed it all up I'm convinced that I should. How the hell do you navigate this thing now?? what happened to the subjects I used to follow??

There are any number of reasons that a person would stop visiting any website or forum. You have to make the decision whether to stay or go. Be aware, however, that the site itself has not changed at all. Only the format of the Digest has been updated. The many of us who do not use the digest at all have seen nothing different.

I don't know where you are in your photographic journey. Perhaps a site that doesn't have the tension between pros and enthusiasts and hobbyists and casual snapshooters would serve you better. I have not found any which are truly different in content and attitude. Most others do not even have a daily digest which could be changed to cause the upset being felt here.

Best wishes to you, whatever you decide.

At the very top hit home. And you are back to what it was. Or at least close to what it was

I'm curious what was causing you to consider leaving prior to digest change? After briefly being a member of three other sites, and current member of two others, I have found UHH's layout to be the easiest to navigate, as well as to "see" because of the type size, colors, ease of using quote-reply, and the look of the pages when quote-reply is used correctly.

If it's the topics, do you know there are about 50 sections in UHH?

Exactly Linda... Just as there are countless Special interest groups on FB. I subscribe to over 50 and only go through gen. news feed to get to my interests... This is a big fuss over nothing. Not one of us is paying directly for use of this forum... Are we to the point where " Free Riders " dictate ?

This was Linda from Maine's tip and at first, I was happy to see my selected topics listed there in the order I remembered. Trouble is, I just noticed that the postings are not provided with the most recent, first. I was looking at several September 23 postings and then noticed the next was from last June and many others were days to weeks old. What gives with that?

I have the ability to filter all the files in a particular folder on my computer by date. Why doesn't UHH add that function? Or did they?

The ORIGINAL post may have been from last June, but the notice was probably about the most recent post added to the thread.....
People can add a post any length of time after the original was posted.
What's the time stamp on the "last post"?

Good point; I'll check. In any event, UHH should allow you to filter the posts by most recent OP posting.

The sense of entitlement is depressing.

If I provided a tip it was regarding alternatives to the digest. I did see Admin's two notices, and passed those along.

Click on "newest topics" at the top of this page. Those are in order of creation, newest first.

I looked at the digest (link at bottom of this page) before logging in and of the 10 I randomly opened, all were either created Sept 23 or Sept 24.

Re Longshadow's comments, a "post" is not a "topic." Precision with language helps keep us from total chaos

I'm sure if we all thought about it, we could come up with many additional filter options......
We could have filters out the wazoo.

The Digest is only a selected list that, according to the UHH Help Section, "contains the most active forum discussions." Thus it does not include all posts or topics, whether new or old. Speculating here, but perhaps they are listed in order of their level of "activity" rather than chronologically.

At any rate, if you limit your UHH experience to the Digest, rather than the Forum, you will miss any number of new posts and new topics that do not meet the criterion of "most active," but you will see older threads that have had more "activity" recently.
