The little mountain town of Victor - very old mining town. They contacted artist, Thomas Dambo, to build a troll. He built one some time ago in Breckenridge, Co. The troll has enticed many people to visit this small town. Dambo's mantra, the "something made of something old can be just as good, as valuable and as beautiful as something made of new."
He builds his trolls from recycled materials and often with volunteer assistance. He has built 119 trolls around the world.
I was able to get up to Victor see and shoot. A beautiful day in the Colorado mountains.
Enjoy
That is excellent!
Love it.
Great structure and a fine set, Rowedean.
Very cool. One reason that I do photography is that I am incapable of doing these kinds of things! I can do the carpentry/woodworking part, but the conceptualizing part is beyond me!
I like this a lot!!
What a great Troll and a better shot
That's pretty amazing! So, when are you going to see another of his trolls?

Pretty cool Troll and nice capture!
On the road from Cripple Creek to Victor you see how the mining company has destroyed the landscape with leach fields for extraction of gold. Noticed in background of #2. It was beautiful country.

Great set of images
Very interesting art work
Thanks everyone for visiting Rita the rock pusher. And, yes as erl commented you can definitely see how the landscape changed as they were mining. Victor is still so charming with all the old buildings. And, Rita is set in a beautiful serene place.
