Tourist trap, AI

Old ghost towns with a new coat of paint seem to attract people willing to part with their money. Tombstone has a daily reenactment of a gun fight for just a few dollars to watch. Other places will cart you around in a buggy for just a few dollars while telling you about the time someone splashed mud on someone else.

As there isn't anything real* in this image, there will not be an entrance fee charge.

Certainy eye-catching. Can you tell me the image sources so I can include in your opening? Any processing done on your part? I'm trying to get a better sense of how we can share these other than "just" AI. Thanks!

As stated above "As there isn't anything real in this image, there will not be an entrance fee charge.", it is all AI. Thank you, Adobe, for giving us FireFl.

Of course, this was an image generated in Adobe. The 'source' was a vacation to Tombstone, AZ where we saw their shoot 'em up show. They were re-enacting the 30 seconds that took place at 3:00 PM October 26, 1881, when Virgil Erp took on the Cowboys.

Other than spending a lot of time trying to get Adobe to give me the images that were wanted very little post prosses was done. Adobe possesses a bit of whimsy in generating people with four or six fingers in images, or horses without legs. Of course, a gun fighter with three arms will always be a winner in a gun fight.

I think the price of admission to the show has gone up from 10 years ago. If you like that sort of thing, it is worth a short drive from Tuscon, Az.

Thanks very much. I can understand the appeal for you, Curmudgeon and others who enjoy the software and AI.

Seems like a horse without legs wouldn't be worth much to an escaping murderer, even if the gunslinger had an extra arm

Next week, I'll post an example of five fingered gal, and six fingered gal.

Oh?
It is just for educational purposes as to what would be good, and how badly things can turn out. AI can be dumb at times.

I was joking! Hence the ROTFL while crying emoticons!

Of course you can share those

I would also like a little more information on how this was done.

Did you start out with a picture taken while you were in Tombstone or is the background AI generated?
Did you use Generative Fill to add the other things to the original image?

My experience has been that hands and feet have been, and still are to some degree, the bane of AI. IMHO while Generative Fill and Generative Expand are useful tools they are limited by the Firefly engine. Dedicated AI apps like MidJourney and Stable Diffusion produce much better images but require post processing compositing skills which I am still working on.

First, two different approaches have been used. Below is an example of using a photo 'seed' I used a photo of my dog Star as the basis. Then generated the image. The engine made the dog look better than in real life but kept the markings the same. I placed the dog image in the lower left and selected the background. and removed it to reveal a plain white background. This step seems to work whereas leaving the original background can confuse Adobe. Then hit generate many times until I get what looks nice. A great way kill time.
The resulting image looks very much like the area near home.

The second way is just to start out with a good prompt and hope for the best. If I am lucky Firefly has in its database images matching what I want. So far tonight about fours have been spent getting nowhere. Not much in the way of historical documents to draw from.

As a note: I'm still using the beta versions.
Results seem to be directly tied to the ability to write a good prompt. Tonight, has been a good example of garbage in trash out.
