Has anyone heard of an ID thief monitoring company called IDX? HCA hospitals had a data breach and they are using this company as a free service for those effected.
Even better yet have you used IDX.

Thanks, Don

Looks like IDX (which I had never heard of) is owned by ZeroFox Holdings, a cybersecurity company, which in my view, is barely viable (tons of debt, no earnings, etc. So HCA probably got a super cheap bid from them to handle the data breach.

We already pay monthly to have our credit and personal information monitored, so when we're informed that our info has been compromised we don't worry about the offers given by those who let our info be compromised. We just have to figure that the info is out there and have to make sure it's not used. You may have heard that the City of Dallas got hit last year. That meant, too, that all of the retiree info got compromised.

Can you tell us who you use and has it ever "worked"? As a result of a breach at my company, I have a free subscription to "Identity Force" for a couple years. Not sure how good they are? Luckily, they never found anything.

We subsribed to Lifelock, which Norton has now bought. Yes, it does work. When applying for a mortgage three years ago, they notified whenever the companies we applied with pulled up our credit scores. Recently we've been involved with a new investment firm and were notified when it ran our information. One thing, too, about Lifelock, is they insure you for up to a million dollars against identity theft. We were also warned when our social security numbers popped up in the dark web.

I have ID Shield and it's very good. It's a little cheaper and has everything and more than Life Lock has.

I may have to look into it. Life Lock IS good, and well worth the two subscriptions we have, but it's gone up quite a bit since we got it.

Discover card does monitoring for credit pulls, and notifications of changes in your status. They also contact you if purchases are unusual, first denying the charge, notifying-then clearing once I tell them the charge is valid. They don't charge extra for doing that.
