Dpullum, There are tax cheats and then there are those that "play the game by the rules" to their favor. They can do this because of the Federal Tax Code. They can do this because:
"According to the Public Law 117-154(06/23/2022), the U.S. Tax Code is 6,871 pages. When you include the federal tax regulations and the official tax guidance, the number of pages rises to approximately 75,000. This will take an average reader about 14 weeks to finish."
Dateline 2012: "Last week, the New York Times reported that, in addition to paying no federal income taxes this year, General Electric (GE), the largest US corporation, is set to get a tax credit from the government of $3.2 billion.
The news generated no small public outcry, coming as workers and small business owners prepared to file their own taxes in anticipation of the April deadline. But GE’s latest tax bill only points to the general rule: unlike regular people, most American corporations do not pay federal income tax.
GE made $14.1 billion in profits in 2010, $5.1 billion of which came from its US operations."
Despite GE not paying Federal Taxes on their billions of dollars of profit, then President Obama appointed GE CEO Jeff Immelt as the head of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.
It makes one wonder whether the Federal Tax Code was written to be fair to private citizens or if it was written with complex language and loopholes to favor large corporations and those of wealth.
As with our cameras, they can not see the huge, but can focus on something small like our incomes.
I hate those suckers. I am very happy that they are not around here.
