Photoshop 25 showed up in my Creative Cloud subscription today. It opens offering tutorials about using AI to replace, remove or fill areas.

This is the image on the opening splash screen.

It is not a beta. "Rollouts" take a few days. I don't know why mine seems early.

There is a morning Adobe meeting online now. The basic announcement is that Firefly powered capabilities, Generative Fill and Generative Expand, moved from "beta" to Adobe Photoshop. In the $10/month plan 250 credits each month are included. One credit is used for each 'generation'.

That's interesting - kind of a price increase. Wonder what it costs if you use more than 250 credits?

I'm hoping this is the Beta version finally debugged. Imagine though, version 25. I recall many years ago, being a user of the very first set of developing tools, which has morphed into what we now call Photoshop. We called it Darkroom back then.

Here's Adobe's FAQ about the credit program. https://helpx.adobe.com/firefly/using/generative-credits-faq.html

It this mornings meeting it was explained that when your credits get used up the feature will slow down. Why? Because it uses cloud servers and Adobe needs to "meter" or manage the server space. How much it slows down will depend on how busy the servers are.

The also said that the metering doesn't actually start until November 1.

I don't see it as a price increase. This does not effect the existing repair tools. This release is a new AI feature added to your plan without the price changing.

And 1000/Month for creative cloud users like me. I am disappointed that the fill is at a maximum of 2000x2000 still.

Here's some further information from Adobe's FAQ (see earlier post for link): "After November 1, 2023, generative credit limits will be enforced, with paid users either experiencing slower use of the features or receiving a daily generation cap. Also, Adobe plans for users to be able to purchase additional priority processing generative credits through a new subscription plan, starting at US$4.99/month for 100 credits."
