In the Montmartre District, Paris 1970. When I lowered the camera we exchanged smiles, hers has stayed with me for 53 years! I have recently scanned more than 2500 35mm negatives that I have not touched in 50 years, what fun!

This is a wonderful image. I wonder if that could be her son immediately behind her? One thing I like about this image is how she is absolutely fearless and has struck a pose with her hand on her hip. I am glad that you kept this image to share with us. And we have the extra bonus of "flat top" in his checked trousers taking a picture. I wonder if any of the oldtimers among us has any notion of what brand of camera he is using?

Thank you Jack. She met all my stereotypical notions of a Parisian lady in complete possession of herself. I enjoyed wondering if her companion was her son or her lover.

Thank you RodeoMan, I replied to Jack before I read this. I had the same thoughts about her companion, and I am happy to know that this photo transmits her fearlessness. She stood out in that crowd very much as I have processed this photo. Working with this old film is going to be very satisfying.
