Global warming exist, but it is only a symptom of a greater problem.
Everyone with a bit of sense knows something is not right. Governments make promises, set goals and so forth. Great, but this is placing a finger in a sinking ship approach.
The main issue is the world population that keeps growing, keep demanding more and more. The lofty goals toward solving the climate change do not address the population growth, especially in developing countries.
I am not pointing fingers at the 'developed' ones yet, but I will. The reason is simple, all the countries that are old are seeing a decline of population. Immigration barely makes up for the change in birth rate...
The issue with 'developed' countries is that they demand, use and waste more than any other country, creating another unbalance...
Solution? Reduce the population and reduce the demand and waste created by over supply in some areas.
The human issue... Who is going to tell parents that they should refrain from having too many children? After all, sex is an integral part of being human. Looking at it this way, abortion should not be under attack, it becomes a way to voluntary control the birth rate, even if it is far from solving the issue of over population.
And, no, I am not implying that one should have an abortion to save the planet. It will not.
Now start spouting your bile.

I have mentioned a few times here in the attic about the
8.1 billion population on a planet that can handle only a
one billion population with zero environmental effects.
But very few here want to discuss it.

I don’t see it as a discussion point unless you wish to mandate birth control.
The solution lies in learning and developing ways to reduce that impact rather than reducing population.

The population will eventually reduce itself, COVID
was just the first lick at the ice cream cone.

I don’t think so . It may reduce the population. “Growth rate” but the not absolute. Number .

We're all doomed, so here's my answer.

My right knee has been totally replaced about 2 years ago
and a week from today my left knee gets a total replacement.
Maybe I will be able to party again like it was in 1999.

The only problem with talking the population into doing their part to lower, or at least stabilize the population is that those who should be passing on their genes won't, and those who shouldn't pass on their genes will. Recognizing the problem is easy, coming up with a fix, not so much. A big part of the problem is reduced infant mortality and another is increased life span, but who would want to reverse either?

Nature will decide for us on how the population will be reduced.

If you think the world is so overpopulated and needs to be reduced, why don’t you start with yourself first? You lefty cultists are so willing to kill the unborn child but you won’t do it to yourself. Bunch of cowards.

The world is not not over populated. It’s just over concentrated (congested) in some areas.

Why don't you try living in some of those uninhabited areas?

Who said anything about inhabited areas?
