May be off of UHH for a spell depending on weather or not we lose power. We dodged a BIG bullet, we will only have minimal effects from this powerful storm but no telling about the electricity. Don't expect any flooding as we are a ways from the coast and in a non-evac zone. Not looking good for the Big Bend area of Florida though.

Take care, Don. If anyone knows about hurricanes and their effects, I sure do.
I am in Punta Gorda and while we are missing most effects, there will be some flooding overnight with the tide and surge combined. I have friends in Horseshoe Beach that is going to be very near to the landfall. I wish them well.

Both of you stay safe Don.
Praying there is no tidal surge.

Be safe Don and keep us up to date when you can. Hurricanes are not fun to be in. Jim.
Gonna be crappy up the coast…but in North Fort Myers it was pretty much a nothing burger. We’ve had more wind and rain in regular old thunderstorms.
Don, I hope things go well for you.
Stay safe, Don! Keep us posted.

Have a Grand-Daughter and her Husband and Son living down there right on the coast just south of Clearwater and north of St Petersburg and I haven't heard from them yet. The last hurricane that went through there just knocked over a couple of bushes in their back yard. I don't think they lucked out this time.
Take care of you and yours, Don.
We got a heavy rainstorm and some 40ish mph wind in Estero (near Ft. Myers) but no really damage or flooding. Unfortunately this is the new normal and we Floridians have to be prepared for the next big one during Hurricane season.
We made out just fine, didn't even lose power. I sincerely want to thank all of you for your well wishes. Being from Louisiana I am no stranger to hurricanes, Betsy, Camille, Katrina, etc., but if I had my rathers I would not like to see any more!
Thank you again Ken, Bunky1151 (Glad you are OK), Sylvia, Joe, J11, Frank, neillaubenthal, Sam, Mike, Walter (Hope your grand-daughter and family are OK), Earnest, Jerry, tgreenhaw (We had wind gusts between 60-70MPH in Ellenton).
