Cute title, fun composition! Might be my tired eyes at the end of the day, but I'm not seeing any of the chile in focus.

"not seeing any of the chile in focus" .....Hmmmm.... that is worrisome. And Rab Eye agreed with you..... Maybe the light is too soft so as to make the edges appear OOF? It seems ok on my monitor. Maybe hand holding @ F4 and 1/60th of a second (even with image stabilization) is not enough!?
~I'm gonna guess here that if I'm going to do artistic food images, I should be more serious and set up a tripod and such instead of my quick shoots off-hand for the "Food" section here at UHH - .

At Yorkiebite's invitation here is my version. I had to start with the small color jpg he posted. Imagine if he'd shot in raw 
One important edit was to reduce the brightness and contrast because of the very bright white and yellow. I adjusted that first and then a bit of levels. Then I used a preset in Nik Silver Efex for the conversion. I forgot to annotate which preset, but might have been "high structure."
There are other folks on UHH who can do much better with this file than I, but I was curious to try.
