I just purchased a Gateway gaming laptop from Microcenter for $400. It has a 6 core i5 processor, 16GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD. But more importantly it has an NVIDEA Geforce 3050 GPU. The laptop was on sale and I'm not sure how long the sale lasts.

I wonder if that's the original Gateway company. I thought they went out of business.
Nope!
Following a seven-year-long slump, punctuated by the acquisition of rival computer manufacturer eMachines in 2004 and massive consolidation of the company's various divisions in an attempt to curb losses and regain market share, Gateway was acquired by Taiwanese hardware and electronics corporation Acer, in October 2007 for US$710 million.
I have had better luck with Dell Inspiron laptops than with other brands and models. My current one cost about $600 at Office Depot.

Our Office Depot left town years ago. I have a nice, Old Dell Vostro 1500 laptop from 2008. It works fine, but the screen is too dark is use. There doesn't seem to be a reasonable solution. There's something listed on eBay, but for $70 plus tax, I don't want to take a chance.
Yeah, from the description, it seems that a new screen won't fix it.
If you want speed for PP, look at MacBook Air 13” for$999
Costco...MacBook Air M1 chip @ $749. Bought one and am thrilled.

I had only bad luck with Dell. Both desktop and laptop. I never bought one though but I have used several and I always had problems with them.

My wife has a Dell laptop, she like it.
But I can't get the HP desktop to communicate with the Dell laptop. My HP laptop does just fine both ways with the desktop.
My laptop can't see the Dell laptop, but the Dell can see the HP desktop.
Very confused. I thought I set the privileges on the Dell just like I did for the two HPs.
I'm wondering if I missed something unique to Dell.....
That looks like a great buy!
