Yes, pixels. A recent thread about watermarking got into some detailed discussion of pixels, dpi, etc.

For simple downsizing to create a smaller file for easy download, and also to create a smaller file to deter photo thieves because the file is too small to be worth stealing, yet still high quality for the internet. I use Phrish Resizer.

It's a standalone simple image resizer to get quick images sized down for web viewing or downloading for fast transfer on the internet.

It's free. Once installed, if you right click on a file name in your Pictures folders, you will have a new menu item called Phrish Resizer. Left click that and you have 4 size choices, plus custom.

I seem to recall that one of the sizes is 640x480 pixels, the old VGA standard. However, I usually use 800X600.

You can resize one file or a batch of files by selection, and it will put the resized file(s) in their own folder inside the folder where the original is kept.

I started using this when Windows ceased to provide their power tools image resizer.... works great

Phrish Resizer... find it with google or yahoo. Put both words in the search. It's a free download.

Never wait again to open your regular IMAGE EDITOR for a simple quick resize. A standalone resizer like this is very quick and clean.
