Flower close-ups taken with my new Pentax K-1 mark II camera. This camera is my first FF DSLR with a 36MP sensor. I am still getting used to it and slowly learning its many features. I used a smc-Pentax-D FA 100mm F2.8 Macro Lenses and a tripod for these images. I did some Ps trickery to get the black backgrounds.
(1) & (2) The first two images were taken 8/11/2023, ISO 200, f/22, mirror lock-up. I illuminated the flowers with a mixture of 5000K LED and Window Daylight.
For the later two images I used the Pentax Pixel Shift feature of my camera. Same camera, lens, lighting, mirror lock-up, on tripod. If you want to know, "Google" Ricoh Pentax Pixel Shift. Too complex to explain here. Taken 8/14/2023.
(3) Pixel Shift only. Exposure ISO 200, f/22, 5 sec.
(4) Pixel Shift and 7 Exposure Focus Stack. ISO 200, f/8, 0.6 sec. Slightly over exposed highlights in white flowers.
I am not totally happy with my results here. I have gotten better final flower images with my CF cameras and focus stacking alone. I am not sure of the benefits of the pixel shift thus far. But that is a new feature or tool to me. I have done a lot of focus stacking, a few captures manually and over a hundred exposures stacked using a automated focusing rail. Any constructive comments or advice welcome. Thank you for reading and looking.
I think they are beautiful.
Very nice shots. I would like them better without the frame. JMHO

Agreed...the frames are a distraction. I find the colors in the third photo particularly appealing and satisfying. Beautiful!
Beautiful work, but the frames distract from your photography.
Great, colorful set Mike.

Great set, beautiful!!!
I'M with Jack on the frames , to me the frame competes with the flower.

Nice captures. Thanks for the details.
Nice flower shots and presentation.
Nice set, appreciate the info on each. Number three is the closest to perfection of them all, IMO.
