My husband volunteers at the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad. They are in the process of restoring this Chinese Locomotive. He has been up inside this locomotive.

Fascinating. So many questions, like how did a Chinese locomotive end up on Iowa? Does it run on US standard rails? What sort of restoration is needed? This sounds like a great project. I mostly deal with model trains - this takes the hobby to a whole higher level. Please keep us posted on the progress.

I appreciate the time you took to comment. This is their website that tells a little bit about the locomotive and the Boone and Scenic Railroad. My husband have ridden on this locomotive. It is impressive.
