It is a great shot of the rose. For many years Pentax has been manufacturing excellent cameras and lenses. The brand never was as popular as Nikon or Canon but they have been reliable and still they have many followers.
I have known Pentax since the mid fifties when they were called Asahi Pentax. The 35mm SLR saw life for the first time in 1957 through Asahi Pentax, the first Japanese company manufacturing such a camera body. Nikon and Canon introduced their first SLR cameras around 1959. The name Pentax became well known all over the world because of the innovations they introduced with their cameras, like a rapid return mirror, fast film advance and fast film rewinding. Because of the design of the lens mount many lenses like those made by Zeiss could be fit in Pentax cameras.

I am telling you what I still remember. I wish I knew why they have not been manufacturing mirrorless cameras, they have been pretty quiet since the company was sold to Ricoh and I believe they want to go back to manufacturing film cameras.

The Pentax CEO and top management public ally stated they will not develop mirrorless cameras. They declared this is a written statement release and in a audio-visual video. It’s all on their forums web site and in myriads of comments on their Facebook site. They also declared plans to develop a new line of film cameras (no joke!!) and be the worlds best at film camera development! I’ve been a dedicated Pentax owner (3 bodies, many lenses) for many years, but have given up on this once I heard and saw their idiotic plans.

I have always used Pentax cameras and it looks like I may have to break out my 70-210 lens once again after viewing your beautiful photo of that rose!

I must agree 100%. One never knows what goes on behind closed doors. There are times when even I become

puzzled by their business philosophy.

Many thanks for your comment sir. :)
