I'm working on two programs I seldom use. One for audio and one for a slide show. I was stalled using both, so I clicked on "Help." Neither program offered any help. With Movavi Slideshow Maker, I wanted to extend the duration of each slide. After a lot of searching, I found a couple of paragraphs - "Click on the Transition Wizard." Unfortunately, it didn't tell me how to find that. Looking back at the program, I saw nothing to indicate that Wizard. I looked on YouTube, and I found the answer. There is a small square with a squiggle that represents the Wizard. I wouldn't think that Transition would be where you adjust the duration. Transition lets you choose how the program transitions from one program to another.
It was the same with Audacity. I wanted to do something with a section of music, and Help tells me to Select it. How? I've done this before, but it's been a long time. When I find out how to do this, I'm going to write directions for myself.
Generally, you can highlight the selection of the WAV or MP3 much like highlighting a series of words in a sentence. Haven't used Audacity much, as I got used to Adobe Audition.
Since Audacity is freeware, your best bet is to find an Audacity forum, perhaps on Facebook.
Also, if you can find a licensed copy of the old Adobe Audition 3.0, it is still great and a bit more fluid to use. Later editions got complicated.

"Generally" should apply to all software. Why re-invent the wheel? Simply selecting it doesn't work. When I do that, it tells me to "Select it, like Control A. "All" of it is already there. I want to select only a small portion. Whey couldn't they have said, "Select it by..."?
YouTube has given me the best information, but if I click on an old post, the screen is different. I have to find one that is less than a year old.

I have found that when I use help for an item, the response is usually for a different or older model. They simply cut and pasted the old text and slapped it on the newer model. Lazy.

I have a software ProShow Producer (no longer available), that is outstanding! The developers er, changed the name and no longer support that version... The replacement is " Photopia is the next generation of slideshow software and takes slideshow creation to all new heights ".

I bought that a few years ago, but I can't install it because the company went out of business. Stupid!
