Green Heron trying to hide

The elusive Green Heron is an expert at blending in and being fairly small is very hard to spot from the road. Because my wildlife photography is taken from the drivers seat this was a real treat for me. These are hand held and heavily cropped heavily cropped (R5, RF800 F11, 1/2000, ISO 2000).

Thank you, they aren’t that common here in Wisconsin. Sometimes I see them and then a car comes by, they move and I can’t find them again. I guess the challenge only increases the satisfaction.
