Another old grain elevator, this time in color. Taken in Concordia, Kansas about nine years ago.

It has seen better days but that is true for most of them.

What gets me though is that it looks oddly familiar in spite of the fact that I don't ever remember being in Concordia, Kansas.

Great photo, the color and air of abandonment show the rust and enhance the lack of maintenance, to tell us of the economic and other harships in the region (or does it show the economic exploitation and neglect by the huge agribusinesses?) .

Thanks Mike. I was thinking the same thing, I've done a lot of these and after awhile they all start to look alike somewhat. This one had a lot of color in it so I didn't convert to b/w.

Thanks Elias. I like to photograph these old elevators. I usually convert them to b/w but this particular one had so much good color in it I left it in color.

It totally works, Jack. There are a lot of subtle and not so subtle gradations in the browns. Even on this less than stellar monitor that I have at work. Shhh,

Worn and rusty, but still impressive and full of personality ✨✨✨✨✨
