Glad you are happy but i am happy with my a57
Sorry Roy should have said Sony a57
Love my Nikons but face it all of todays cameras are super. Dave
The ABSOLUTE BEST camera is the one you have in your hands at the time the photo opportunity presents itself!!
If you go by resolution per £ then the Nikon D800E has NO rivals, and it is a joy to use.
The best camera is the one you have with you!!!!!

To a certain extent this is true but gee it's a cliche'd and misleading saying. Fine if you are talking snapshots maybe.
The best camera is the one that will take the shot the way you need it to be taken.
If the camera can't do it - you don't get the shot.
I'm very happy with my Canon 7D.

But a $5,000 camera is WORTHLESS if you don't have it with you, and if you want to capture a once in a lifetime situation a $40 camera on your belt or in a purse becomes PRICELESS!

For example that "once in a lifetime UFO shot" that is a squiggly white line on a black background?
A bloke at work used to show me pictures taken with his phone of these beautiful birds he saw on his farm.
It commonly went like this, "Well you can't actually see it in this shot but in that bush there, there was a really bright coloured little blue bird flitting around, Gee he was nice, I wish you could see it in this shot properly but you get the idea".
Or that great football shot where everyone is so small that you can't even tell the players from the people in the crowd.
