My cameras exposed.
Well Hoggers, I thought why not share my photographic equipment and some images with you.
The images I have previously posted were done with one of these cameras but previous posts were done with my D200, Which I sadly broke. Then I got a D300 S used from either Adorama or B@H or the known one.
Well I read all the posts about the big dollar gear many of not most members have. Me, being the cheap ass of the site, I thought it would be interesting to share what I have.
For years I used point'n shooters from Sony and Canon while still using my Film Nikon N80. The two lenses shown here were bought with the N80 and when I decided to get a DSLR back around 2016, so I got a D200 because my current two lenses connected right up and worked just fine. Then about 3 or 4 years ago I got the 400mm from a member here on UHH.
When I went with the D200 I realized that it was and still is a very good camera, but I felt like that WHY spend a lot of money on expensive new gear if I could not learn and take good pictures with what I have ?
The cameras:
Nikon D300 S, Nikon Coolpix L310 bridge, Lumix FZ300.
My son found the L300 on the street and gave it to me. It works but, the zoom goes out fine but does not retract until powered off. The USB port seems to not be seen by my desktop puter so I take the card out insert in the puter or reader. For a cheap ass camera it takes nice pictures which I will post from an airshow I took along with my baby D200.
This will extend to a few more posts to explain and show a piece of me and my experiences.
We are the only limitation to an old camera. We are limited if we need better AF or more frames per minute or any other feature that we consider indispensable in our photography.
All these old cameras make images, good or mediocre as per our experience as shooters. In my limited experience with the D200 I found it was a very good performer. The D300S, I used a D300, was also an excellent camera and 12 MP. are enough for a lot of applications and excellent enlargements, in my case to 12x18 inches. I bet larger sizes are no sweat either.
The best part of all of this is that their price in the second hand market is very attractive for these old cameras. You cannot make better images, using the same lens, with the Nikon D6 professional neither can I.
As long as you are happy keep on shooting.

Thank you for the reply. Yes I agree with you. I NEVER thought I would post or even mention the L310 but the D200 and 300 are low priced now and still give good results for me. The Lumix is very good too.
I know the newer and very expensive gear gives better results in the right hands but I just cannot and will pay multi thousand dollars even for the latest cell phone.
I will post more from the D200 later on from the same air show.

They might be older cameras and lens, but they and you are doing a fine job with them. I still take the best photos with my older equipment. Just too lazy to really learn the possibility's with my D750. Used to have an Canon A-1, then a Canonet when in Korea with my US Army tour in 62 _63, (loved that Canonet and Kodachrome 64. Still have it.) Then I bought an Olympus E-500 Kit, then a Sony DSC-R1, then Nikon D80 and D90, both of them I gave to my daughter, then that one ton D750 Kit from B&H, which I still have. Still have all of them except the Canon A-1 (sold it).
