Larry McMurtry's son, James, is a great songwriter and singer. I saw him and his longtime band once in Tempe where he complained about his monitor. Some time later, he complained again. Sometime later, he put his foot through it, HaHa! Anyway

I have been following Larry McMurtry for many years. He is one of the best Lyrical story tellers ever. We have many of his albums on cd, some of his firsts were the best, although several of his newer albums are pretty darn good too. Someone else you may like the the EARLY albums by Fred Eaglesmith, he tells great stories too, his latest stuff not so much; look for Fred Eaglesmith and the flying Squirrels.
