I've used the 24-240 on several vacations now and have been pleased with the results.

I live in Western Mass, the buses i have seen come through do stop along the road as long as they can park far enough of the road to be safe. There are some times that other people want take pictures as well. The 24-105 will work well and if you have tele converter would be a nice add on. a word of caution, The fall can be very nice, but depending on when we get out first frost, it could be latter in the fall before colors peak and when they do peak they are not here long.

16-35? On a full frame the 24-105 would probably cover just about anything. On my hiking trip to Scotland last year the 12-40 on my OM-1 covered just about everything. Full frame equivalent that’s 24-80.

You didn't say if your camera is full frame or crop.

I have one, and an R5. It is a good lens but lacks a separate focus ring. I also noticed some vignetting but can't remember whether it was at the 24 or 240 mm end.
