Canon Focus Bracking (Focus Stacking in camera)

Does anyone have any experience with the Focus Bracketing feature on a Canon EOS RP, R5, R6, or R8 using a Tamron 90mm macro lens?

I am not able to make it work with this lens, and I found an article online that lists all kinds of Canon RF & EF lenses that they say are “Officially supported by Focus Bracketing”. They then added “We absolutely cannot guarantee proper Focus Bracketing operation whin third-party lenses attached”.

Anyone used that Tamron 90mm macro lens on one of these cameras?

No, I haven't. But my Nikon D850 will not work with my Tokina 100mm, either.

I don't have those items, but likely you are not going to be able to use the bracketing feature with that lens. I think (am not 100% positive) that bracketing can be done if you have the older Canon 100mm f/2.8L lens, + adapter. You might save some $ by getting a used copy of that lens, and it is terrific (I have it).

That lens works perfectly on my Canon M6 Mark II using an EF to M adaptor. Make certain you have the lens set to auto focus and full focus range.

This lens works on my Canon R8, 5Dmk2, and 6Dmk2. However not with the Focus Bracking function on the R8.

OK, I have the answer to my own question. The camera works fine with one of the Canon RF lenses and with the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens.

Canon has not allowed 3rd party lenses to work with the Focus Bracketing function in the current mirrorless RF cameras. This was verified by taking the camera and Tamron 90mm macro lens to my local camera store.
The following link will list all the current RF and EF lenes that will work with their Focus Bracketing.

My Tamron 90mm worked great focus bracketing on my Z7, with the adapter.
